Subscriptions and purchases
Manage or cancel a subscription
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Prompta Premium. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you cancel, you keep Premium until the period ends; your scripts and recordings are never deleted.
Free trial
New subscribers to the yearly plan get a free trial. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you won't be charged. Prompta reminds you with a notification before the trial ends.
Restore purchases
On a new iPhone or iPad, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Settings › Restore purchases in Prompta.
Refunds
Payments are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Frequently asked questions
What's free and what's Premium?
Free: HD (720p) recording with no watermark, export, mirror mode, remote control, voice scrolling and voice commands. Scripts up to 1,500 characters (about 90 seconds) scroll in full; a longer script can be unlocked for the day by watching a short ad, up to 3 times a day. The free version shows ads. Premium: no script length limit, no ads, Full HD and 4K recording (if your device supports it) and word tracking.
What's the difference between Voice and Word mode?
Voice moves the text while you speak and stops when you pause. It only detects whether you're talking, so it works offline. Word (Premium) recognizes your words with Apple speech recognition and keeps the line you're reading on the reading line; it may need an internet connection, depending on your language.
Can I control the teleprompter without touching the screen?
Yes. With the camera teleprompter open (iOS 17.2 or later), volume down plays or pauses and volume up rewinds a bit. Bluetooth keyboards, presentation clickers and foot pedals work right away; you can assign your own keys in Settings › Remote control, where you can also turn on voice commands.
Where are my videos saved?
In the Photos app, in an album called "Prompta". If Prompta doesn't have access to Photos, videos are kept in the Files app under On My iPhone › Prompta › Recordings (On My iPad on iPad).
The camera, microphone or speech recognition doesn't work
Open the Settings app, scroll to Prompta, and turn on the permission you need. Text mode works without the camera.
How do I move my scripts to a new device?
Your scripts and settings are included in your device's iCloud backup and come back when you restore it on a new device. You can also use Settings › Export my data to save everything as one ZIP file, and import it on the new device.
Privacy
Prompta has no accounts, and your scripts and recordings stay on your device. Read more:
