Privacy Policy

Effective: Applies to: Water Eject for Android and for iPhone and iPad (com.durusoft.speakercleaner), version 2.0 and later on Android and version 1.0 and later on iPhone and iPad

1Who we are

Water Eject (listed as “Water Eject: Speaker Cleaner” on Google Play and “Water Eject – Speaker Cleaning” on the App Store, and under translated names in other languages) is an app for Android, published on Google Play, and for iPhone and iPad, published on Apple’s App Store, by DuruSoft, based in Türkiye (“we”, “us”). For the limited personal data described in this policy that we decide about, we are the data controller. Google acts as a separate controller or as our processor for the Google services described below, Apple as a separate controller for the App Store, and RevenueCat as our processor for purchases on iPhone and iPad.

Where a section says “on Android” or “on iPhone and iPad”, it applies only to that version of the app; everything else applies to both.

You can reach us at duru.sofft@gmail.com.

2Data at a glance

This table lists every type of data the app touches, where it goes and why. It also matches what we declare in the Google Play “Data safety” section and in the App Store “App Privacy” details.

The app does not request your location or contacts, does not read your files or photos, and does not use any analytics service of its own. On iPhone and iPad it asks only for permission to add the measurement photo to your Photos library, which does not let it see your other photos.

3Data stored on your device

To work, the app keeps the following on your device in its private app storage:

  • Your choices: theme, cleaning length, speaker, vibration strength, weekly reminder day, and whether onboarding is finished.
  • Counters: how many cleanings you have finished, when the last one was, whether today’s free Deep Clean was used, single-use unlocks earned by watching a rewarded ad, and whether you were already asked to rate the app.
  • Your cleaning history: date and time, mode, speaker, length, and your answer to “How does it sound?” (up to 100 entries).
  • dB meter history for Pro users (minimum, average, maximum and length of each measurement; up to 50 entries).
  • The speaker test’s “before” reference: three numbers (one level per test tone) and the media volume at the time. No audio is kept.
  • Your last known Pro status, so the app knows it while offline.

We cannot access this data. It is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app, and the cleaning and dB histories can also be cleared inside the app. See Device backup for how your device may back it up.

4Microphone

The microphone permission is optional. It is requested only when you open a tool that needs it, after a short explanation in the app:

  • Microphone Test: shows a live level and records a 3-second clip that you can play back. The clip stays in memory and is discarded when you leave the screen.
  • dB Meter: turns the sound level into an approximate decibel value, minimum, average, maximum and a graph.
  • Speaker Test “Before / After”: plays three test tones and measures how loud each one is heard.

Audio is analysed on your device in real time and only while the tool is on screen; the microphone is released as soon as you leave it or the app goes to the background. We never save audio to a file, never upload it, and never use it to identify you or for advertising. Only the resulting numbers described in section 3 may be kept. Cleaning and every other feature work without this permission, and you can withdraw it at any time: on Android in Settings → Apps → Water Eject → Permissions; on iPhone and iPad in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

5Camera and measurement photos

On Android the app does not request the camera permission. When you choose to take a dB measurement photo, Android opens your camera app; the picture you take comes back to Water Eject, the level and date are drawn on it, and it is saved to your gallery in the “Water Eject” album. Any copy your camera or gallery app keeps, or backs up, is governed by that app’s own policy.

On iPhone and iPad the app opens the camera inside Water Eject only when you choose to take a dB measurement photo, and iOS asks for the camera permission the first time. The level and date are drawn on the picture, and it is added to your Photos library with “add only” access, so the app cannot see your other photos. There is no separate album. You can change both permissions in Settings → Privacy & Security.

On both, the photo is not uploaded or shared by us.

6Notifications and vibration

If you turn on the weekly maintenance reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. On Android 13 and later, and on iPhone and iPad, it asks for the notification permission first. No notification data leaves your device, and you can turn the reminder off in the app or in your device’s settings. Vibration is used only during vibration cleaning and for short touch feedback, on devices that have it.

7Purchases (Water Eject Pro)

On Android, Water Eject Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment under the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. The app receives only what it needs to unlock and restore Pro: the product, a purchase token, the purchase state and the price to display. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Earlier “Remove Ads” purchases are recognised the same way and include Pro.

On iPhone and iPad, Water Eject Pro is a one-time In-App Purchase made through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Apple Privacy Policy. To check and restore your purchase, and to give us purchase statistics (for example how many people bought Pro), the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States) as our service provider. RevenueCat receives the App Store transaction information for Water Eject, an anonymous app user ID created by its software, the identifier for vendor (an ID that iOS gives to apps from the same developer on your device), your device model, system version, app version, App Store country and preferred languages, and, like every internet connection, your IP address. It does not receive your Apple Account, name, email or payment details, and it does not use this data for advertising. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

8Advertising and your consent

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads are never shown before your first completed cleaning, never during a cleaning, and never to Pro users. Native ads appear on some screens; a full-screen ad may appear when you leave the result screen, at most once every 3 minutes and twice per app session; rewarded ads play only when you choose “Watch an ad, unlock once”.

What Google collects

To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your device’s advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), device and app information, how you interact with ads, and diagnostic and performance information about how ads load and run. On supported Android devices the SDK may also use the Android Privacy Sandbox (Topics and Attribution APIs). This data is processed by Google; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

On iPhone and iPad the app does not ask for permission to track you (App Tracking Transparency), so it cannot read your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA). Google may use an app- or developer-specific identifier instead, and ad performance may be measured with Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you.

Consent

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to ask for your choice before ads are requested. The first time is after your first cleaning; until you have made a choice, no ads are requested. If you do not consent, Google may still show ads that are not personalised. In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for advertising. Where your region requires it, you can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy options.

Controlling personalised ads

  • Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.
  • iPhone and iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, for Apple’s own ads. Water Eject does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
  • Google: My Ad Center.
  • Water Eject Pro removes all ads.

9Ratings and other store services

  • In-app review: the app may show the store’s rating card after a few cleanings: Google Play’s on Android, the App Store’s on iPhone and iPad. Your rating and review go to the store under your Google account or Apple Account; we only see what the store shows publicly or in our developer console.
  • In-app updates (Android only): the app asks Google Play whether a newer version exists and lets you install it. On iPhone and iPad, updates come from the App Store.

These features are provided by Google Play and by Apple under their own terms and privacy policies.

10Device backup

If you have turned on Android’s backup, Android may include the app’s on-device data (section 3) in your device backup to your Google account and restore it on a new phone. This backup is controlled by you and by Google, is encrypted by Android, and is not accessible to us. You can turn it off in Android Settings → Google → Backup.

On iPhone and iPad, the same data may be included in your iCloud backup or in a backup to your computer, and restored on a new device. These backups are controlled by you and by Apple and are not accessible to us.

11Crash and performance reports

If you allow your device to share usage and diagnostics with Google, Google Play may send us crash reports, “app not responding” reports and performance statistics. On iPhone and iPad, if you choose to share analytics with app developers (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us crash and performance reports. These reports describe the device model, system version and what the app was doing when a problem happened; they do not identify you to us. We use them only to fix problems. Separately, the Google Mobile Ads software sends Google diagnostic and performance information about ads (see section 8).

12When you contact us

If you write to us (for example from “Write to us” in Settings), we receive your email address and what you write, and the app pre-fills your device model, system version and app version in the message to help us; you can remove them before sending. We use this only to answer you and to fix the issue you report, and we delete it when it is no longer needed, at the latest two years after our last exchange.

13Sharing and selling

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for purposes other than those in this policy. Data reaches Google, Apple and RevenueCat only through the services described above. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users or others.

14Retention and deletion

  • On-device data: kept until you clear it in the app, clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.
  • Microphone audio: not retained.
  • Google and Apple data (ads, purchases, reports): retained by Google and Apple under their policies.
  • RevenueCat data (purchases on iPhone and iPad): kept by RevenueCat for us while we use its service, to check and restore purchases. The app user ID is anonymous, so we cannot link it to you.
  • Emails: as described in section 12.

Because we hold no account or profile about you, there is nothing else for us to delete. If you still want to ask, write to us and we will reply.

15Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to a data protection authority. This includes rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), and US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act.

The legal bases we rely on are: performing our agreement with you (running the app and Pro), your consent (personalised ads where required, microphone and notification permissions), and our legitimate interests (keeping the app working and secure, answering your messages). For data processed by Google or Apple, you can also use their own tools and requests.

To use your rights with us, email duru.sofft@gmail.com. We will reply within the time the law requires, usually 30 days.

16Children

Water Eject is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

17Security

On-device data is kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. Connections to Google, Apple and RevenueCat are encrypted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep the data we handle to a minimum.

18International transfers

Google, Apple and RevenueCat may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and certifications described in their policies. Emails you send us are stored with our email provider.

19Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app or the law changes and change the “Effective” date above. If a change materially affects how your data is used, we will also tell you in the app or in the store release notes before it takes effect.
